Bikes in the tunnel?

Riding into the Clem Jones Tunnel on the Great Brisbane Bike Ride.  This is the best part of the ride - about to go whizzing all the way down to below river level!  The climb back up isn't quite so much fun...

City Cycle Wednesday

City Cycle is a recent initiative of Brisbane City Council.  There are bike 'stations' such as these all around the city and inner-city suburbs - hire a bike, ride from place to place, and then drop your bike back the nearest station.   BYO helmet!

This is Riparian Plaza down in the Golden Triangle, it's practically the Matrix down there with all the "suits" but it's too hot to wear coats, let alone overcoats... I found out today that the vampire film Daybreakers was partly filmed in this building, and also at Robina train station of all places.

Another sunny day in Brisbane

Eagle Street Pier sits right on the river bank in Brisbane city.  It has all sorts of yummy food options and makes up one corner of Brisbane's "Golden Triangle" - the city's prestigious financial and restaurant district.

 

A different kind of ferry

Spotted a different kind of ferry today. This is probably part of the effort to get the ferry and catamaran network back in action after the flooding.

This doesn't look all that dramatic, it's down about a metre and a half from the peak. You can see a ferry terminal underwater and on the city side the Riverside boardwalk still under.
